How to Create Accounts Below the Topsheet
In this video, I will show you how to edit the account items that sit under the topsheet.
Just to recap, on the topsheet, you choose what section you want to drill into. And now that we have gone one level down into the top sheet, we are at the account level.
So, for this example, I am going to choose the ‘Cast’ section of the topsheet.
I need to first choose the ‘Cast’ row, and then I am going to use the keyboard shortcuts that we learned in the previous video, ‘Command + Arrow Down’. And what that does is it drills down into this CAST section.
Now, I am inside this cast section, where I can create accounts. So let’s do that.
I am going to choose the account number here first, and then the description for that account.
Then the next one down, same thing.
Let’s continue with ‘Stars and Leading Players’, ‘Supporting Cast’, ‘SAG residual’, and ‘Casting’.
You could include anything here you want, even taxis and Shuttles.
Let’s make one for miscellaneous, also.
Note that every time you go to the next line, you need to make sure you are within the same account code prefix, as in all items inside the top sheet cast section will use the prefix 14. Meaning all of our cast account codes start with 14.
This is the proper way to create a film budget, and the accountant you use later for the production will really appreciate this.
And then if you want to go back to the topsheet level, you can simply use ‘Command + Arrow Up’. It’s that easy.
