Organization Level Trial Balance Walkthrough

Trial Balance Walk through. The trial balance gives you a high-level financial snapshot of your entire organization across all projects.

Instead of showing every individual journal line, it shows the Total Debits, Total Credits, and the resulting Balance grouped by your Chart of Accounts.

If the Trial Balance balances—meaning total debits equal total credits—you know your accounting entries are structurally correct.

While the Project Trial Balance shows balances for a single project, the Organization Trial Balance combines all projects under one organization-level Chart of Accounts. This report is often used for financial statement audits and executive reporting.

At the top, you can Filter by Date to view balances for a specific period, such as a month or quarter. The report recalculates instantly based on your selection.

At the bottom of the report, you can verify the grand totals. These two numbers must always match; if they don’t, it indicates a posting error.

Finally, you can Export the Organization Trial Balance to CSV or Excel for external accountants, auditors, or management reviews. This report validates your accounting accuracy and serves as the foundation for your financial reporting.
