How to Create & Modify Cost Centers

In this video, I will show you how to create and manage cost centers in your organization. Cost centers are used to identify which business unit or company code a project belongs to. They act as labels for internal ownership, reporting, and financial structure.

Cost centers are created at the organization level and reused across projects.

In Periscope, each project is assigned to a cost center to indicate which part of the organization owns or who is responsible for it.

To create a new cost center, click Add. You will need to enter the Cost Center Code, Name, Business Unit, and an optional Description. Click Save to finish.

When creating or editing projects, you can assign these cost centers to define the business unit the project belongs to. For example, you can track all of your commercials with one cost center code and then all your features or long form with another cost center code.

To modify a cost center, click Edit. You can update the name, business unit, or code.

If a cost center is no longer in use, you can Archive it. Archiving prevents it from being assigned to new projects in the future.
